Nightingale is a music application similar to iTunes whose objective is to offer an effective music player that is simple, versatile, and full of features that other similar tools don’t offer.
The program is based on Songbird, which is why some of its functions and even the appearance seem to be very familiar. Nonetheless, because Songbird ended official support for Linux, Nightingale has appeared in order to offer a great, open source multimedia player based on Mozilla.
The music player will allow the importing of all the songs and playlists on your computer as well as read tons of different formats without a problem. Of course, you can also rate them and directly create your own playlists.
The most interesting thing is that from the program’s interface you can open a new tab from which you can browse the Internet. Thus, you can, for example, download new songs and add them to your list or library without leaving Nightingale.
If you are looking for an alternative to your usual music player, and you’re willing to try something different, you can give Nightingale a chance. It is still in development, but it has already begun to grab people’s attention.
